From July 26th to 27th, I had the pleasure of hosting Luigi Dalcuore and his daughter Cristina in Beijing for a trunk show introducing the works of Sartoria Dalcuore to my friends. Luigi has been going to Tokyo in the past seven years, and recently started traveling to Seoul. I hope to see them here on a regular basis going forward as the interest in this type of clothing for men is beginning to form in China.
Great food in Italy are often found inside small trattorias tucked inside residential neighborhoods. When the same dishes are exported, especially to Asia, they tend to be served in environments that are over done. Mercante, a relatively new restaurant does away with the stiff service or five star hotel location and offers a small and simple menu that is focused on products from the owner’s home town in Tuscany. As a result, it is one of the most authentic Italian experiences, both in taste and atmosphere, that’s available in Beijing.
